What is SeedRakhi?

“SEEDRAKHI®, A SUSTAINABLE ALTERNATIVE TO SYNTHETIC, PLASTIC & NON-BIODEGRADABLE RAKHIS“

Seed Rakhi is an organically hand-made cotton rakhi, crafted by rural women to be tied as a token of love, respect, and affection on the Indian festival Raksha Bandhan, honoring the beautiful brother-sister bond. An urge to take an eco-friendly route to celebrate the grand festivity, with an aim to carry forward the age-old tradition and conserve the environment led to the creation of India’s first Seed Rakhi®. Projected in 2018, this green initiative of making Sustainable, Plantable Rakhis works on the issue of minimizing the non-biodegradable remains of plastic-made rakhis and replacing them with rakhis made of biodegradable material along with seeds of indigenous plants.
